My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:13

What would you do for your friend?  Are we there when they need us or are we more like acquaintances?  Jesus tells us to love each other as He loved us.   He gave His life so that we might live.  As friends, we should hold each other accountable, not out of judgment and criticism, but out of love and concern for each other’s wellbeing,  especially spiritual wellbeing.  Do we provide the help that our friends need in their time of need?  When we read the story in Matthew 9 of the friends that brought the paralyzed man to Jesus, the friends were concerned about the man’s wellbeing, physically and spiritually.  They knew he needed Jesus’ help.  They demonstrated faith that Jesus was the only one that could help him.  How would he have seen Jesus were it not for his friends carrying him?   Do we bring our friends to Jesus?  While we cannot physically carry them and place them at Jesus’ feet, we can bring them to know and see Him through our friendship and demonstration of our own faith.  Help us Lord to be the friend that our friends need that will lead them to you.
