Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6 : 33-34
Faith Over Fear
How many of us worry or become anxious about matters in our lives? And by spending time worrying, do we make the situation any better? When worrying, our minds tend to take us into further despair by envisioning things as being worse than they really are or conjuring up scenarios that exacerbate our worry and anxiety. When we worry, Satan has us right where he wants us, doubting God’s ability to take care of us. The Bible gives us very explicit instructions on what we should do instead of worrying and, reportedly, the words worry, fear or anxiety are used in the Bible 365 times. Ironically, the same number of days in a year. Jesus tells us that each day has enough trouble of its own and if every day is going to bring about some problem or trouble to worry about, are we going to spend our entire life worrying? In Paul’s letter to the Philippians, he writes in chapter 4 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Wouldn’t you rather spend your time giving praise and thanksgiving to God, knowing that He already knows all about your situation, even the outcome, and all He wants is for you to put your trust in Him knowing that He has a plan for your life? Step out in faith, make your petition to God by laying your problem at His feet and pick up your song of joy, praise and thanksgiving and experience the peace that passes all human understanding.
